Account Director
The Role
KITE HILL PR is currently seeking an Account Director to join our growing team. Are you looking for a position where you’ll be instrumental in fueling the agency’s client and team expansion? The ideal candidate should have recent PR agency experience, including leading and executing communications campaigns.
We’re an agile, B2B tech PR firm with a focus on the adtech, media, entertainment, climate tech and emerging tech industries. We’re looking for someone who is proactive and loves working in an entrepreneurial environment, taking on exciting challenges and learning new skills. We're not your typical agency.

Position Summary:
Identify and research potential clients. Lead and/or serve as a key participant in new business initiatives to shape the agency’s pitch and approach
Develop and maintain client relationships
Lead account teams; provide thought leadership and strategic media relations counsel grounded in deep knowledge of clients’ businesses and our agency’s key practice areas
Lead and direct all program efforts to ensure client satisfaction; bring a value-added approach to all issues and projects
Drive and execute integrated communications campaigns (PESO model) with an earned-first approach driven largely by media relations
Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships
Develop client strategy, media materials, client messaging and thought leadership programs
Manage and mentor a growing team of smart, enthusiastic PR professionals while establishing best practices and providing structure
Partner directly with the CEO and founder of Kite Hill PR to ensure that client engagements are delivered on time and on budget
In addition to client program oversight and execution, agency growth and new business development responsibilities include:
Strategy Development: Collaborate with the executive team to define and implement a cohesive business development strategy that aligns with Kite Hill PR’s overall growth objectives, capabilities, and industries they service
New Client Identification: Proactively identify new business leads (clients, brands, industries) and market segments and own the process of engaging with and closing prospects
Proposal Development: Vet RFIs and RFPs and, if deemed appropriate, work with team members to lead the development of compelling proposals and pitches tailored to the client's specific requirements
Staffing: Work closely with the senior leadership team to finalize staffing of new clients and ensure a successful handover to the client team
Networking and Industry Engagement: Sell the value of the firm with confidence and conviction during introductory calls and pitches. Increase visibility and foster new business relationships. Remain current on trends within the firm's industries of focus
Qualifications:
B.A./B.S. in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field or study
8+ years of public relations/communications experience in a PR agency environment
2+ years adtech and/or media & entertainment experience
2+ years of relevant sales experience, ideally in a public relations
agency setting
Experience in shaping the business development processes, directing new business strategies and developing sharp, tailored proposals
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and high-level executives, both verbally and in writing
Proven track record of closing new business
Self-motivated individual who is responsive and able to be productive and results driven in a work from home environment
Proactive and creative thinker
Extremely organized and detail oriented
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving, analytical, budget management and business skills
Positive attitude and deadline-oriented
